Hi!
I'm Kerrie, I am a sophomore in the Consumer, apparel & retail studies department, with a concentration in Apparel Product Design. I am inspired by "retro" fashions mostly from the 50's and 60's, like the pattern envelope above (circa 1965). I feel these classic looks can be modified for today's younger generation into something both classy and flirty.
This year I will be very busy as I have 16 credit hours, and a leadership position with the CARS organization Threads. I am very excited about being the vice president and I can't wait to start sewing for the fashion show this spring.
My favorite part about designing is seeing my sketches come to life on my dressform. I hope with the help of this department I will be a more capable designer in the fashion world.
